Rihanna: You Da One (Video Premiere)

A blonde Rihanna works it out in the new video for You Da One, the latest single to be taken from Talk That Talk.  The clip was directed by Melina Matsoukas, who also created the controversial We Found Love and S&M videos, and  it draws inspiration from Clockwork Orange. I think that Ri Ri may well be the only person I’ve seen that makes wearing a grill looks good!

Stay turned to Hard Candy for a very special Talk That Talk giveaway coming up soon!

Florence & The Machine Cover Drake’s ‘Take Care’ On The Live Lounge

There’s always something so thrilling about artists you love covering songs you adore, especially when the results are as stunning as Florence and the Machines‘ take on Drake & Rihanna‘s Take Care.

She delivers a totally flawless performance and I really love her spin on the song. Just look at the lucky crowd, how are they maintaining their composure? I would have been losing it! I swear everything she touches turns to gold!

Rihanna: ‘Talk That Talk’ Released + ‘We Found Love’ (Live On X Factor UK)

Rihanna paid a visit to X Factor UK at the weekend  to perform We Found Love. She started things off slow perched on a hairdryer (yeah, I don’t know what the set was all about either) in what appeared to be a rather demure looking outfit,  then quickly amped things up!

I loved the performance, although vocally she was a little off, her dancers were on point though, and at the end of the day you really can’t go wrong with any performance of this amazing song!

Her latest album Talk That Talk dropped today and I must say that I’m really impressed with it. Lyrically it’s her raunchiness effort to date, she gets dirty and I like it! Currently I’m all about the title track which features a killer verse from Jay Z, the emotionally honest ballad Drunk On Love, the reggae tinged Watch and Learn where she instructs her man how to do it, and of course the Calvin Harris collaboration We Found Love!

I’m not sure if it beats out Loud for me yet, but it might just do in the long run! Give it a listen and let us know what you think!

Listen: Rihanna ‘You Da One’

Here comes You Da One, the second single from Rihanna‘s upcoming album Talk That Talk. After clips of all the tracks from the release surfaced yesterday (listen here) it didn’t seem too promising.

We take that back with You Da One, yet another catchy Dr. Luke/Ester Dean jam from RiRi. Preview below and let us know your thoughts in the comments! It’s no Rude Boy, but we’ll take it!

Make sure to check out Rihanna and Drake‘s new singleTake Care.

Drake ft. Rihanna: Take Care

The new Drake album Take Care leaked a few days ago so I’m late to the party, but I just had to do a post on the title track Take Care that features Rihanna.

I know that you’re thinking Drake is not our usual forte, but with a track produced by Jamie XX featuring the lovely Rihanna, he finds himself firmly in Hard Candy territory! The track samples Jamie XXs reworking of Gil Scott-Heron’s I’ll Take Care of You.

I’ve not played much of the rest of the album yet, but with collaborations galore with artists like The Weeknd and Nicki Minaj  and a handful of  Stevie Wonder productions, I think it’s going to be a winner!

So far i’m loving We Found Love, Where Have You Been?, Drunk On Love and Farewell  - it seems like this album has more urban influences than her previous albums. From the clips, it doesn’t sound too appealing. Maybe RiRi should have taken a bit more of a break between Loud and this new set.

What do you think so far?
