Distance, the new Skream produced single from Kelis just premiered on Reprezent Radio via DJ NIKKI Beatnik and it’s got this spacey UK garage feel to it – definitely infectious. It’s If you haven’t checked out her previous album Fleshtone, it’s a delicious treat for dance/club lovers.
The new single strays away from the club direction a bit, but no fear – in a recent interview Kelis expressed that she was inspired by sounds from the 90s. You know what that means!
I’m feeling the track much more now, after hearing it in higher quality than the radio rip we posted awhile ago.
Kelis gets her part in the flick, although it’s quite short lived. Tell us what you think of the video in the comments below! We need an extended album cut immediately – the track is perfect for radio! - Matt
When I heardBeth Dittowould be joining Duran Duran on stage at the American Express Unstaged concert I nearly spat out my tea! It seemed a rather random collaboration to me, but it totally worked! The lovely Beth performed Notorious with the band and I just love it!
Beth was not the only Hard Candy favorite on hand to perform during the night. The band was also joined byKelis who sung The Man Who Stole a Lepoard!
Duran Duran‘s new album All You Need Is Now, produced by superfan Mark Ronsonwas released this week. – Camille
I needed a hot new remix to dance it off to this weekend, and Kelisgave me just that with a new remix of Brave. Her complete reinvention for the Fleshtone album was a rousing success in our book, the entire album is one cohesive trip to the dance floor – just like she promised.
Enjoy this new remix by Third Party, and if you haven’t picked up Fleshtone yet it’s a must listen! - Matt
These lists are always insanely difficult for me, but every year I attempt to have a stab at putting together a list of my favorite albums of the year. I think that 2010 was a brilliant year for music, lots of my old favorites released fabulous albums and plenty of amazing new artists blew me away with their first releases. Now without further ado, I bring you my favorite albums of the year!
Kylie Minogue – Aphrodite
When I heard that Kylie was working with frequent Madonna collaborator Stuart Price I expected great things, I just was not prepared for the insanity that was this album. When I got word Kylie would be appearing at Splash back in early June, I gathered my friends (including the fabulous Brad Stern from MuuMuse)and headed down. Our minds were blown when she premiered a megamix of never heard before songs from the upcoming album. The day after while playing my video of the event over and over again, I danced around my room in delight when I was presented with a watermarked stream of the album by the label. I played this album day in day out for months on end and I still never tire of it
