There are several rumors regarding the new Madonna album floating around which we have decided to post (it’s part of the fun isn’t it?!) Please remember to take all the rumors with a grain of salt!

All we know for sure is that she spent a week recording in London (and blasting unheard music out of her windows) and that she will commence her second week in the recording studio this Monday (via Guy Oseary)

• A November release has been rumored for several weeks now and the rumors are getting stronger!
• Musical inspirations for the album include Beth Ditto and Jessica 6.
• Diagram of the Heart may be involved and a demo called Way Back Home may have been recorded during the  last recording session
• Joe Henry (M’s brother-in-law – who she previously worked with on Don’t Tell Me) is involved in two collaborations so far.
• Four songs have been recorded so far. One of them is a demo track from the American Life/Confessions On A Dance Floor sessions.
• During pre-production A Madonna/ Lady Gaga collaboration or Madonna singing a song written by Gaga was considered but Madonna ruled it out.
• They are planning strong promotion for the album on social networking sites and with brands like Apple (possibly something to do with the iPhone 5 launch)

Now I’ll offer my two cents!

I would  be very happy if the Jessica 6 and Beth Ditto inspirations turned out to be true. These are two of my favorite releases of the year to date, and I could see the sound of both working very well for Madonna.

As for the Gaga rumor, I highly doubt it was even considered, but if it was I’m very glad it was ruled out. Madonna doesn’t need Gaga to have a hit.

With regards to strong promotion, I’m sure we hear that every time she is about to release something but then it often turns out rather lackluster. For this album it is absolutely essential that there is strong promotion all round in order for it to be a success. We are already seeing more activity on the Madonna official website and social networking sites than ever before (for example the recent True Blue anniversary contest and gallery updates) This is a good sign that things are moving in the right direction, I expect they will really up the game for the release. It also goes without saying that syncing up with a brand like Apple would be a very smart move!
