Our dear friend Simon Curtis teamed up with Frankmusik last year, appearing in his No I.D. video and the favor’s been returned! The ‘Vincent Did It’ remix of Flesh is all we’d hoped it would be, and then some. I asked Simon to tell us a bit about his excitement upon first listen…
“I hit Vince up and told him that I simply had to hear what he would do with this song. He was incredibly busy at the time – his album was about to come out. He remixed the song without ever having heard the original production. Then, when he finally sent it over it blew my mind! I called him up as I listened to it the first time, he wanted to be on the phone with me when I heard it and I just started screaming. It sounds like Justice and Chromeo and Daft Punk meets sonic the hedgehog…”
Sonic the Hedgehog indeed! Past the 1 minute mark it’s an all out high energy, chopped up dance affair. Mr. Curtis hints at a new sonic direction with this mix for his next album and we’re ready! Head on over to his new website, which is properly doused in a sexy red hue.
While we await the release of Sky Ferreira‘s debut album, which has been pushed back, I have no doubt that we will continue to hear random tracks that pop up online. The latest one of these is American Dream which was produced by Frankmusik. There was a bit of buzz earlier today that this was written for Britney Spears, but this has just been confirmed as false on Twitter by Frankmusik.
As for the album, Sky is currently recording more materialand we may get an EP shortly. She recently posted this update on her blog...
“I am now recording even more material for the record because I feel like I’ve grown (musically) since when I was 15-16 years old. All of the songs will eventually come out because they are all important to me. I’m trying to push for an EP to come out in February too. It’s been extremely frustrating, but you know ‘these kinda things happen for a reason”

Hard hitting industrial masher King Cannibal has been pretty busy. He’s just been signed to the magnificent Ninja Tune imprint, remixed the Prodigy (listen here) and now we have his yet to be released (until today) take on FRANKMUSIK‘s bubbly ode to not being able to say ‘i love you’ – 3 LITTLE WORDS. Listen closely – it strays just far enough from the original and there are many hidden FX woven in that you must repeat it over and over to fully appreciate the groove. - Matt DOWNLOAD MP3 3 Little Words (King Cannibal Remix)
If you wanna check out more on King Cannibal, his full length debut Let The Night Roar is available now.
Ahh… Frankmusik doing another cover and loving it so much! This time taking on The Police and doing a cover of their classic track Every Breath You Take. Much different from the original and thoroughly enjoy his take on the song. If you haven’t heard it yet, don’t delay its great! Oh Frankmusik…. how you swoon me! :)
FRANKMUSIK is quickly becoming one of my favorite new male electro-pop stars. He brings his sound to the ever played out Rehab, and changes the track quite a bit. You’ll see what I mean when you download it below!
This is a great track from Frankmusik that has characteristics of the 80′s, 90′s and Today! I can picture it playing and people dancing to it in any of those era’s, and with colored denim and flannel back in style today it’s no wonder that in my dancefloor fantasies the people look the same LOL :) This track is called Better Off As Two, definitely check it out!
