Florence Welch can really belt it out, so why wouldn’t she have a few club anthems under her belt?
Hot off the success of the Calvin Harris remixed Spectrum, the Welsh nightingale returns the favor, providing vocals for Sweet Nothing a new track to be featured on upcoming album 18 Months. Listen to a rather scratchy radio rip below.
This morning the video for Florence and the Machine‘s Breaking Down premiered. Directed by Tabitha Denholm, who also directed videos like Cosmic Love and Heavy in Your Arms, the video is shot in a super 8 style with the feel of a tour diary and was completed while Flo was on her recent US tour.
Florence and the Machine have just released the video for Spectrum, one of my favorite cuts from the epic Ceremonials album. In it we see Flo surrounded by ballerinas and in the water scenes channelling Ariel from The Little Mermaid, at least in my mind!
What do you think of the Spectrum video? Be sure to let us know via Facebook or Twitter!
A couple of days ago the incredible Calvin Harris dropped this epic mix of Spectrum, we’ve been playing it non-stop! Have a listen and let us know what you think!
Pals Blood Orange and Florence and the Machine are currently on tour together in the U.S. and have hinted at making music together. The first collaboration comes in the form of this rather wonderful remix of Flo’s Never Let Me Go which is in fact a total rework featuring Blood Orange on vocals.
Head to Interview for an interview where Dev discusses his relationship with Flo, the tour, and his next project.
Florence + The Machines‘ Breath of Life is one of my favorite releases in recent weeks and the video for it has just premiered. It’s scenes from the forthcoming movie Snow White and the Huntsman intercut with black and white scenes of Flo belting her lungs out backed by a choir.
I’m excited to see the movie now if only to hear this masterpiece booking out over the speakers in the movie theatre!
We’ve been dying to hear the full length version of Florence & The Machine‘s Breath of Life, taken from Snow White and the Huntsman, since clips surfaced a few weeks ago. It finally landed a few minutes ago and I’m already obsessed with it!
Flo is backed by a soaring choir, intense drums and beautiful strings, which results in a one hell of an atmospheric track – quite fitting for a major motion picture. It’s no surprise that Florence has once again floored me, she’s such a talent!
What are your first impressions of the track? Let us know in the comments!
I think i’ve blown out my vocal chords singing along to You’ve Got The Love by Florence + The Machine. Covers are always a risky thing, but Ms. Welch totally belts it out. If you haven’t seen her live, it’s an absolute must…she sings just as perfectly as on the record.
I’m really in the club remix mood as of late, so you’ll be seeing a lot of those – but only the best! Here is the Sanna & Pitron mix. Pump it up! - Matt
