Ever since I first heard Lady Gaga‘s Alejandro I was just waiting for someone to make a sick mash-up with the Ace of Base classic Don’t Turn Around. Our prayers have been answered in the form of ‘The Return of Alejandro’ which mashes the songs seamlessly and includes a track i’d never heard by Kalomira.  Enjoy! – Matt

Alright, so we have something special for you in this post!  We’d like to introduce you to MESSKID out of Brooklyn, New York.  MESSKID is a outstanding Remixer & DJ that has been doing some impressive mixes lately that you must check out!  His most recent is of the the track Syrup by the Three Six Mafia and this on it’s own is a stand out mix!  We are also fortunate enough to share 2 additional mixes.  MESSKID has leant his talent to remix Ace Of Base and Lady Gaga too and they have ear catching beats and breath new life into the current Lady Gaga track and into the Ace Of Base retro classic!  Here are those tracks :)

How long have you have you been DJing & Remixing?
Ever since I sold my soul……..so 1 year.  

Where are you from?  Have you lived in NY all your life?
Born in Riga, Latvia (eastern europe) moved to Detroit in 1992, moved to NYC in 2005.

Everyone has music guilty pleasures, what are some of yours?

What was your motivation behind your latest pokerface remix?
To me the original didn’t have the right mood/vibe. I wanted to create a new feeling for the song, I like making moody tracks, the kind that take u on an adventure and paint sort of a 3D picture of the song in your head, u feel me.

Who motivates and inspires you?
Anybody doing something weird or different. A lot of motivation comes from myself, cuz if you don’t believe in yourself who will?

What would you like to say to all those MESSKID fans out there…  
Roads? Where I’m going we don’t need roads! messkid ;)

ACE OF BASE are back with another revamped, ’2009′ version of one of their classics. This time, it’s Happy Nation from the album of the same name. They’ve turned it into a hip-hop style track, with a bare beat. I don’t mind it, but it’s nothing spectacular. Come on guys, show us what you got!

I never thought there would be a day where Ace of Base would come back after they were so popular in the mid 90′s, and here I sit, posting new 2009 remixes (reworks rather) of their most popular songs.

I’ve already posted my favorite of the lot, Wheel Of Fortune. I’m really not feeling the new versions of Don’t Turn Around or Lucky Love. I loved the songs the way they were, and these updates sound instantly outdated. I really wanted to like them! I did!

ACE OF BASE: Wheel of Fortune (2009 New Version!)

I’ve yet to post any Ace Of Base on the blog, oh my lord, how could that have happened!? Haha. All sarcasm aside, they may be a blast from the past, and one of them may be missing…but they still pack quite the punch on dance floor.

Here is a brand new version of one of their very first tracks, Wheel of Fortune. I found it on one of my favorite blogs!
