I know you have all been requesting we find/post mixes of Adele‘s next single Someone Like You, and i’ve been scouring the net for over a month to find the perfect one! The original is absolutely perfect, remixing is not necessary but we all love to dance it off a bit now don’t we?
As with anything, there are a lot of not so good mixes to weed through (not that I don’t appreciate the effort) but I was able to find one that I can stand by and post on here for all to see!
Jonathan Gering turns the heartfelt piano glistening original into a trance explosion! Adele is known to not be a fan of hearing her work remixed, so I can’t imagine what she’d think if she heard it – she’d probably have a heart attack! Anyway, enjoy a free download of this unofficial mix and dance your ass off to one of our favorite artists of 2011!
Can we take a moment to view how beautiful Adele is looking these days? Look at the photo above from Elle…hot stuff!- Matt
Róisín Murphy recently completed a gorgeous photo shoot for XOXO Magazine (you can see some of the shots here) and they have also treated us to a ten minute interview with the star in conjunction with Diary Of Mu!
In the first half of this incredible interview, shediscusses her views on women, style, creativity and Istanbul (where she was interviewed) In the second half comes the most exciting news I’ve heard in a while, she reveals that she is writing music and she is ready to release an album! She discusses working on Overpowered and how her new stuff is coming from a deeper place.
We’ve loved all the recent collaborations and solo tracks she has unleashed in the last few years, and are thrilled that at long last more material will hopefully soon be with us!
You can watch the trailer for the interview below, but in order to watch the full interview you must get the XOXO Mag iPad app and then the download free April issue. If the full interview surfaces online we’ll be sure to update with the full video! – Camille
If you watched Britney‘s MTV documentary on Sunday night you will have seen a sneak peek of the Till The World Ends video, now here is the full video! This is a much better than the mess that was Hold It Against Me (shame on you Jonas!) Britney and her dancers get dirty in an underground bunker, quite literally dancing till the world ends!
The video at times gives me flashbacks to old Britney, her choreography is better than in recent live performances, and scenes like the one screencapped above even gave me flashbacks to the Slave For You days! – Camille
One of my favorite artists to emerge in the mid 90′s was Poe. I didn’t pay much attention to her until the release of Haunted, an eerie alternative rock/pop album which included recordings of her dead fathers voice between the tracks.
Poe’s father was film director Tad Danielewski. After he died, she and her brother found cassette tapes, recorded in the form of audio letters to them chronicling their childhood all the way back to their birth. Her brother wrote a book House of Leaves, released at the same time as Haunted, and it’s thought of as a companion piece to the album.
Unfortunately, due to complications with a bad record deal, Poe hasn’t released any new music since 2000′s Haunted. In the beginning of 2010 she announced the possible release of new material, but nothing has surfaced yet.
The title track is an absolute favorite of mine, without question. Other standout tracks include Control and Wild. The album version of Haunted is much longer and has some pretty epic sections that the Chris Vrenna aka ‘Tweaker’ remix leaves off, so I’ve included both. If anyone has a higher quality version of the mix please send it over!
I’ve got more Poe rarities coming in the next few weeks! Enjoy! - Matt
I’ve always loved Lights by Ellie Goulding, so it is always a pleasure when a great remix of the song hits my radar. This one turns the song into a delightful Moroder esque disco dance party! - Camille
Lykke Li will be performing an unplugged set on MTV this Thursday at 9pm EST, and today they have shared a preview! Here is a gorgeous rendition of Possibility from the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack, which she performed live for the first time. I look forward to seeing the rest of the set that includes a cover of Big Pink’s Velvet. Watch Possibilityhere – Camille
