We had no idea Kylie Minogue was busy working on a charity single for Japan! In collaboration with Japanese rapper VERBAL, We Are One will be released on iTunes next week. The two shared a bit about the track and why they recorded it together…
We extend our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to all who have been affected by the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami, and we truly hope for the recovery as soon as possible. Let’s all help rebuild the country together!! This collaboration single “We Are One” was especially written deep from our hearts thinking about everyone in the Tohoku regions. We’d strongly like to continue supporting for the future of Japan.
What do you think of the track? Make sure to purchase it when it’s available to continue the support of the crisis in Japan! Thanks, Kylie! - Matt
I’ve been waiting what feels like 100 years for the return of Santigold, and she has just returned with a bang with Go which features Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! An odd pairing you say? well I agree, but somehow it just works! I am so beyond ready for her sophomore album due for release this summer! – Camille
It is no secret that Clare Maguire‘s debut album Light After Darkis one of our favorite releases of the year. It is stuffed to the brim with gorgeous tracks showcasing Clare’s stunning vocal ability.
One of the tracks that I am most obsessed with is The Shield And The Sword, it is the next single to be taken from the album, and the video has just been released. Fashion is the focal point of the piece, and Clare is shown in several elaborate costumes, my favorite of which is the regal looking one she wears while seated surrounded by those statuesque men! Queen Clare.. hmm I like the sound of that! – Camille
Sicker than the remix! Just hours after Britney Spears, her tour mate Nicki Minaj, and Ke$ha hinted at this Till The World Ends remix on Twitter, here it is and I’m loving it! As usual Nicki’s lyrics are brilliant! What do you think of it? – Camille
When I caught the end ofJessica 6‘s set at The Knitting Factory a few weeks ago, one track that stood out among them all was Prisoner of Love. This track features Antony Hegarty of Antony & The Johnsons, and I just love the husky vocals and the driving disco beat! See The Light the debut album is due for release in June! – Camille
Oh happy day! After clips of Run and the acoustic version of Broken leaked, now we finally have our hands on the full length versions. Run was written by Madonna & William Orbitfor the Music album, it’s a super fun upbeat track with gorgeous guitars and William’s trademark watery sounding production. The acoustic version of Broken is rumored to have been recorded in 2007. It’s a very raw demo, but I love her hearing her voice stripped back with minimal instrumentation (I bet that is her playing the guitar too!)
Next up we have the Holiday Sticky and Sweet live vocal studio demo from 2009. I love the first half of this demo that is a Celebration/ Holiday mashup, it gets a little messy when the vocoder enters the picture. In this demo you hear parts of Everybody and Billie Jean (I love Madonna’s MJ style yelps haha) I think that a finished version of this would have been great on the tour, alas it was not to be!
Any budding remixers out there (or people like us who download any and everything!) will be interested in freshly leaked acapellas of Bedtime Story, Get Together & Celebration and maybe even the Corazon instrumental! Grab those here.
What do you think of the tracks? Let us know in the comments!
