Remembering Davy Jones

The great Davy Jones of The Monkees has passed on today at 68 of a heart attack, and we would like to take a moment to remember his great works as both a musician and actor.

Davy sang lead vocals in the band The Monkees on many of their popular tracks of the 60′s and early 70′s.  The group reached high levels of stardom as musicians & actor and we’re world wide heartthrobs.

You can hear Davy’s lead vocals on such popular hits as Daydream Believer and many more.  He was a true asset to the world of music and screen and will always be remembered for his fun boyish charms that swooned the world for many years.  Thank you for the great music and memories.

Below you can see Davy’s audition screen test for the popular Monkees television show which greatly captures his honest, tender and light-hearted personality.

Leave your favorite Davy Jones songs, videos and memories below.

Madonna ‘Girl Gone Wild’ Lyric Video

Madonna‘s new single Girl Gone Wild just premiered in official lyric video capacity via Vevo. We’ve been dying to hear it since it popped up alongside Turn Up The Radio and Give Me All Your Luvin’ in the brilliant teaser MDNA megamix. The bangin’ bass heavy number was produced by the brilliant Benny Benassi, and get things off to a fabulous start as the opening track on MDNA!

The Act Of Contrition inspired opening prayer is one killer way to kick off MDNA! We heard it earlier today, it’s missing in the lyric video version, but you can listen to the full song right here…

I love that Madonna amped up the energy on the second single and went straight for the club!   I’m obsessed with the slowed down part towards the end, it’s so reminiscent of the Confessions era…I love the ‘forgive me’ purr!

Can we also take a moment to acknowledge how smoking hot she looks in the promo shot?  Again it’s totally a Confessions vibe… she’s got Farrah hair!

We look forward to seeing the Mert & Marcus directed Girl Gone Wild video that was shot in LA last week. Apparently it has a religious theme, starts with Madonna reciting the Act of Contrition style prayer, and is rumored to have been shot entirely in black and white.

Make sure that you are following us on Facebook and Twitter for all the Madonna news as it happens!
