“She Burns” is a delightful tune taken from Joe Goddard’s forthcoming “Taking Over” EP, set for release later in the year. He’s definitely got my attention with this one, and I can’t wait to see what else he has up his sleeve.
On Friday night, Jessie Ware joined Katy B on stage at Radio One’s Big Weekend for their first live performance of “Aaliyah.” Excellent stuff from the lovely Brits!
Last night, I had the great pleasure of witnessing the legendary Giorgio Moroder play his first DJ set. Red Bull Music Academy’s Deep Space party, which took place at Output in Williamsburg, will surely go down as one of the highlights of this year’s festivities.
It’s difficult to portray in words the sheer elation that everyone in the venue expressed as Mororder, now 73, stepped on stage and took to his vocoder saying “Good evening ladies and gentlemen… I am Giorgio Moroder.” He really needed no introduction. This man is the pioneer of dance music. If you’re a fan of the genre, it really doesn’t get much better than being in the presence of such greatness and dancing your heart out.
The set was a trip back in time though his extensive production catalogue, and as you might expect, included the new Daft Punk track “Giorgio by Moroder,” and was filled with timeless Donna Summer tunes like “Love To Love You Baby,” “I Feel Love” and “Hot Stuff.”
Listen to the full set below, it includes some priceless stories he shared with the audience about his journey into music and time working with Donna Summer.
Moments ago, Madonna accepted the Top Touring Artist award from Will.I.Am at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. She rocked a fabulous punk look, complete with oversized sunglasses and killer stockings!
Before she took the stage, we got our first look at a brilliant extended trailer of the MDNA Tour! It looks like they have done a phenomenal job with it, and we can’t wait to see the full show on Epix next month!
She also took home the awards for Top Dance Artist and Top Dance Album! Congratulations, Madonna!

I’m kinda in love with this freshly leaked Lana Del Rey demo, “Queen of Disaster.” Despite the lyrical content, it’s an upbeat sixties-style number that strays away from the melancholy sound we’ve been accustomed to from Lana!
Apparently, this track was recorded back in 2011 and produced by Chris Braide, who also did “Million Dollar Man.”
Britney Spears has contributed a super pop song to the Smurfs 2 soundtrack. Despite being produced by Dr. Luke, Ammo and Cirkut, Ooh La La gives me distinct Marvin Solveig ‘Hello’ vibes. And of course the “Ooh La La” line instantly reminds me of Madonna‘s far superior ‘Superstar.’
Turns out this is just a demo….
I heard an early demo of #OohLaLa smurfed its way onto the internet today :(The real version will be at radio and iTunes June 16th :)
