The Gossip trio, comprised of Beth Ditto, Brace Paine and drummer Hannah Blilie just announced the follow up to 2009′s Music For Men. A Joyful Noise will drop in May, with production by Brian Higgins (Xenomania). It’s said to be a more mainstream ‘pop’ oriented album, all while staying true to their signature punk ‘in your face’ sound.

The first single from the album debuted on BBC Radio 1 today (March 13) and it’s called Perfect World. It’s not catching me like Heavy Cross did on first listen, but Ditto’s vocals are still spot on and the intro is fantastic. She’s soft when she wants to be, and brash when she needs to be.

I would have loved to see a full length solo effort from Beth, produced by Simian Mobile Disco…one can only dream! Watch the lyric video below…
