One of the best things about running Hard Candy is having the chance to speak with our favorite artists about their music. Last week we got the chance to speak to a Hard Candy favorite, the divine Sophie Ellis-Bextor! She had just arrived back to the U.K. after making a quick trip over to our shores to perform at the 24th annual Dance on the Pier event for Gay Pride here in New York.
With two killer singles (the spectacular Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) and the equally luscious follow up Bittersweet) already released from the forthcoming album Straight To The Heart, slated for a fall release, we figured now was a good time to get the scoop from her!
As well as talking about the upcoming album, including her collaborations with The Freemasons and an array of other talent (including Calvin Harris, Armin Van Buuren & Greg Kurstin) we talk about her career to date, what she’s been listening to and who she’s been seeing in concert, her upcoming tour with the Pet Shop Boys and much more!
If you are unfamiliar with Sophie we urge you to discover her music (my personal favorite of her three albums to date is Shoot From The Hip – I’d start with that!) To whet your appetite the interview audio comes with footage of some of the best of Sophie’s videos – Enjoy!

LOVE that SEB. Truly a talent that deserves more love here in the states. Her AND her husband and bandmates The Feeling.
