I first experienced the insanity of the Gossip live act last fall at Terminal 5, and I was so excited to go in for round two which took place back at T5 on Friday night! The troops has headed down early and snagged a place up the front where we joined them and eagerly anticipated the arrival of the legends. First up opening were The Phenomenal Handclap and Rye Rye who were both great, but we more than wanted to get to the main event!

When it was finally time for Gossip, they came on packing a serious punch with YR Mangled Heart, In the photo pit for this one I had to remember to shoot and keep the jumping up and down to a minimum! Then followed Pop Goes The World where she passed the mike over to Matt from The Music Slut and they sung along together -  great fun!

One of the things I love best about Gossip is their incredible covers. Last time around much to my delight we got a cover version of Tina Turner’s What’s Love Got To Do With It? and this time it was Grace Jones’s Pull Up To My Bumper!  On hearing the opening chords I let out such a scream I startled my friend and turned a few heads – Beth Ditto singing Pull Up To My Bumper?  Soooo good I nearly had a heart attack!  A definite highlight of the show.

Gossip are seriously a win on every level – incredible albums, outstanding live shows, and one of those bands that are just truly thankful for the support ( every opportunity she got Beth leaned over and grabbed hands in the audience) and a funny bunch – the banter with the audience was hilarious! If you are still unfamiliar with them I urge you to check them out and see them live when they’re in a town near you!
